Caitlyn Jenner On GOP Shooting: “Liberals Can’t Even Shoot Straight”

Caitlyn Jenner is still a straight shooter when it comes to her political beliefs.

The reality TV star and former Olympian quipped to a laughing crowd of college Republicans that "liberals can't even shoot straight" when asked about last week's gunfire at a Republican baseball practice.

Jenner, 67, sat down for a discussion at the College Republican National Committee's convention on Friday, and was quick to condemn the attack that left Rep. Steve Scalise in critical condition after a Trump-hating liberal activist opened fire.

"Nobody deserves what happened out there," she told the crowd in a video uploaded to a college Republican group in Virginia's Facebook page. "There's no justification. There's crazy people, we have to minimize that kind of stuff. But as far as people that were injured, it's an absolute shame. Fortunately, the guy was a really bad shot. Liberals can't even shoot straight."

Rep. Steve Scalise upgraded to 'serious' condition

Jenner is a longtime Republican, and previously revealed she voted for Donald Trump in the 2016 election. Still, the "Secrets of My Life" author, who transitioned from Bruce to Caitlyn in 2015, has started speaking out against her candidate of choice in recent months, particularly regarding Trump's withdrawal of protections for transgender students in public schools.

"My loyalties are not with Donald Trump," she said in April. "I'll come after him and come after Republicans when they start screwing up my community."

Jenner also voiced support for Donald Trump’s decision to withdraw the U.S. from the Paris climate agreement.

Jenner did, however, acknowledge one of Trump's moves with which she agreed: leaving the Paris Agreement.

"I am all for getting out of the Paris Accord," Jenner told the crowd Friday to much applause. "I want to be good stewards of our world, and I want us to be part of it. But I want to unleash the American entrepreneur as best we can with the least amount of restrictions to find solutions for a lot of the issues that we have when it comes to climate."

Caitlyn Jenner says she’d consider a political run

Jenner said she believed "we're doing a better job," citing a reduced number of smog alerts, and claimed that she thought the agreement was simply a way for the rest of the world to destroy the U.S. economy.

"I just think the Paris Accord was just a way for the rest of the world to ruin us economically," she said. "It was a big deal. To me it was all about transfer of wealth — get it out of the U.S. and give it to other countries."

Trump announced earlier this month he would pull the U.S. out of the Paris Climate Accord, an agreement created in 2015 with the goal of preventing dangerous climate change. The U.S. joins Syria and Nicaragua as the only countries to not be a part.
