Evernote Releases New Privacy Policy After Listening To User Feedback

After facing criticisms for its initial plan to update its privacy policy, Evernote took its users’ concerns into consideration when releasing a new iteration of the policy, Fast Company reports. Evernote attempted to change its policy in December, stating it would use machine-learning technology to enhance its note-taking service. Users had believed the change would give the company complete access to all their notes, leading Evernote to scrap the update. After consulting privacy professionals and listening to the feedback, Evernote’s new privacy policy clearly states users will have to opt-in for the company to use their data. The company made sure to place the new policy in a privacy center on the Evernote website to ensure users could find it easily.
